'Planet Of The Cats' is a Star Trek The Original Series Neighbourhood that has been created in a base game (thanks to Numenor's
BaseGameStarter) Sims 2 environment. I created it in a base game
Sims 2 environment so that it could be added to anybodies game without worrying about version compatibility problems. A side effect
of this is that I couldn't include the large amount of the great trek stuff out there. All of the townies and service Sims are cat
people. There is one playable cat family and one playable human family.
|
This neighbourhood is fairly empty so far. There are no shops (the natives grow all their own food). The houses you can see are
those of the Kirk family and the outcast Awarrr family.

Some Great Trek Things I Didn't Include/Use

Some Great Things I Did Include/Use (more listed with the Characters - full instructions at the base of this page)
|
Important Note: when your game spawns new characters they will not be catSims. They will be peopleSims, but you can stop the game spawning new characters by downloading and installing the following files;
-
notownieregen - "Townies no longer regenerate when removed from the townie pool. Existing townies are unaffected and continue to function normally. Service NPCs continue to be generated as needed." by JM Pescado of MATY.
-
antiredundancy - stops the spawning of new NPC's for a task unless are none available (rather than the game just wanting to have 4 Maids) by JM Pescado of MATY.
-
nodormierespawns - "Dormies no longer spawn when vacancies exist in dorms. Existing dormies are unaffected and continue to function normally. Special-university townies like the Secret Society members should be unaffected - only the random dormie population is affected" by JM Pescado of MATY - only neccessary if you have Uni and don't want new dormies to be spawned.
-
nostrayrespawns - "Stray animals no longer respawn. Existing animals unaffected. Animals that exist in play may become strays, but no new random ones will generate. Please don't kill the animals. Now includes anti-respawning in the adoption pool as well, reducing minimum pool size requirements, and first dragooning stray animals before creating any new ones as a last resort." by JM Pescado of MATY - only neccessary if you have Pets and don't want new strays to spawn.
Unfortunately this will not stop your game generating new NPC's when a new expansion pack is added, or when you add this Neighbourhood to a game with an expansion pack installed that has new NPC's in it. For instances where your game has spawned NPC peopleSims in a catSim environment I suggest you use the SimPE tool Sims Surgery to remake the NPC in the mould of an already existing catSim.

The Characters And Some Credits
|
|
James Tiberius Kirk has lost his ship, but seems quite content (for the moment) with his macaroni and cheese. He is a Sim I downloaded from MTS2 by gigachanger.
|
|
Spock Son Of Sarek is also by gigachanger but I have used a non-geneticised version of Enayla's Pixie Dusk as his skin. I chose to use a non-geneticised version so that the other Sims in the neighbourhood would not accidentally breed Vulcan babies when they had no Vulcans in their ancestry. Do not use more than one version of Pixie Dusk in your game at one time.
|
|
Nyota Uhura is, once again, by gigachanger and uses an Enayla skin. Uhura's skin, however, is geneticised (Pixie Night)so that her children might not always have the same skin as their mother. Her eyes are part of a genetic set from MTS2 by zedric. Her hair is by motoki
|
|
And now, for a small change of pace, Leonard McCoy was created by drlastic but I removed the fugly mask that he came with and just used the base face.
|
|
Hikaru Sulu is, once more, a gigachanger Sim.
|
|
Pavel Andreievich Chekhov is also by gigachanger.
|
|
Montgomery Scott is also by gigachanger.
|
|
I made Janice Rand myself. Her eyes are by zedric (like Uhura's) and are genetic.
|
|
Christine Chapel is another Sim by me. Her uniform (however) was made by (you guessed it) gigachanger. Her eyes are a geneticised version of 'Glow' by Enayla.
|
|
This is the Awarrr Family and they are playable Sims.
Yes. You are seeing correctly. These cats are 'without clothes' (sorry for the euphemisms but I'm trying not to be accidentally labelled as peddling a 'naughty pictures' website). They are members of a primitive society of cats of course they are 'without clothes' and I'm not going to apologise for the splendid correctness of their anatomy either. DBCAB and CBOY worked damned hard to create the 'features' that the males are sporting and if you're offended by it, either put some clothes on them (prude!) or b*gger off. Actually, if you want to get rid of them, just don't download the CBOY and DBCAB files and they'll all resort to alternative clothing skins (DBCAB) and lose the feature even while 'without clothes' (CBOY).

These cats are part of the townies. Their skins are from Genensims but have been alterred to be genetic. If you are going to play with these Sims in your game I suggest you delete my versions of Enayla's Pixie Hunter and/or Vampire Grace. Having both these cat skins and those in the game at the same time may result in some unexpected offspring. It is also advisable to delete any ungeneticised version of these skins that you might have in your downloads folder.

Some more of the townies. Not only are their skins from Genensims but so are their eyes, again, made genetic. By now you will have noticed that there aren't any townie children. Part of the reason for this is that I couldn't find 'without clothing' skins for children, toddlers or babies (so all cat people younger than teen have to wear clothes) and part is that townie children are just about useless AFAIC. So I just didn't make any.
If you find any clothingless children, toddler or baby skins I would be really greatful if you could email me the links. My address is at the top of my main page - TIA.

The last of the townies. I was also going to do some ferals to replace the alien abductors, but why/how would a primitive society have a spaceship to come and abduct victims for probing? So I didn't.
All of the service personel are cats too, but I won't include pictures here. They tend to get dressed to come to work (the female maids even put on wigs - lol). If you wish to 'fix' this you'll need to go to Paladin's Place and get his Sims 2 NPC Replacer. It can only fix the NPC's, sorry, I don't know of anything to replace PC work clothes.

Instructions
In an effort to keep downloads as small as possible, as well as not step on anybodies toes by redistributing their work when it's uneccessary,
many of the instructions given here will take you to the original creators site for download. Where it is not possible to send you to a site
(due to data loss at the site, my having alterred the files you will need from the original or the inability to download only the files needed)
appropriate links will be given here.
- If you don't already have Numenor's unlevel wall go to Custom Walls Repository and download and install it. Without it installed the Kirk House will deform.
- If you don't want non-Cats to spawn in your game download notownieregen and antiredundancy or (better yet) go to MATY and search the site for all the best and most appropriate mods for your game.
- If you don't already have CBOY's 'male bits' mod go to MATY
and download and install them. If you do not want 'boy bits' on your 'sims without clothes' don't download these files.
- The 'without clothes' clothing that the cats wear is no longer available at Sexy Sims 2 due to a crash. So you can download these clothes (or don't if you don't want Sims walking around 'without clothes') here
- If you don't already have echo's Farmers' Set (With harvestable crops, electric fence & social scarecrow) you need to go download and install it or the Awarrr family will lose all their garden.
- If you don't already have SimAddict99's Additional Crops you need to go download and install it or the Awarrr family will lose some their garden.
- If you don't already have Enayla's Pixie Dusk skin you'll need to go and download and install it.
- If you don't already have my geneticised version of Enayla's Pixie Night you'll need to download and install it.
- Christine Chapel is using a geneticised version of Enayla's Glow for her eyes. You'll need to download it and install it into your downloads folder or Christine Chapels eyes will change.
- The cat people are using geneticised versions of Genensims skins and eyes. The specific skins they are using are Blond Belly, Calico, Cheetah, Grey Brown, Racoon, Grey Tabby, Light Orange Tabby, Orange Tabby and Orange Tiger. So those are the ones you'll need.
- The Trek clothing was created by gigachanger at MTS2, but is only available through the downloading of Sims and comes with unneccessary files. So I have made just the clothing available here. Just download the files and put them into your downloads folder.
- You'll need to download and install Uhura's hair by motoki
- You'll also need a genetic eye set by zedric for both Uhura's and Janice Rand's eyes.
- You don't need to download a Simlogical Teleporter Shrub by Inge, but you may get a message about missing objects when you first load a lot if you do not have it.
-
Wheee! The actual neighbourhood files! Either download it in one big rar
or in 4 pieces (for easier downloading by dial up). Download all four files and unzip just the first file for the neighbourhood (the others will follow with it).
- N008 Part 1
- N008 Part 2
- N008 Part 3
- N008 Part 4
When have downloaded and unzipped you'll need to put the resulting N008 folder into your Neighborhoods folder. If you already have an N008 Neighbourhood you'll need to rename the folder (and every instance of N008 within it and it's subfolders) to a free N00# number.
